California intersections are often busy sections of roadway where danger risks are high due to the amount of traffic as well as a likelihood of driver negligence. Even if a particular crossroad is secured with stop signs or traffic signals, chances of a collision occurring are high if there is a distracted driver nearby or someone acting under the influence of drugs or alcohol or being reckless at the wheel. A fatal collision recently took place at a juncture of Central Road and Sioux Road.
There were two vehicles involved in the crash, one compact sedan and one motorcycle. Preliminary investigations showed that the car was traveling in a in a westbound direction when the collision took place. The motorcyclist was navigating the intersection in a westbound lane.
Investigators are still working on this case
It often takes weeks or longer to determine the exact cause of a motor vehicle collision. Sadly, in this case, both vehicles simultaneously entered the crossroads and collided. A witness later told police that the force of impact ejected the motorcyclist from his vehicle and catapulted him through the air, where he landed near a parked vehicle a considerable distance from the crash site.
The man initially survived his injuries. It was just after 10 a.m. when rescue workers transported the motorcyclist to a local hospital. Sadly, however, he passed away at the hospital sometime later. A central focus of investigation in this case will no doubt include seeking answers to questions regarding why both vehicles were moving through the intersection at the same time. When a fatality is determined to have been caused by another driver’s negligence, immediate family members of a decedent may seek restitution by filing a wrongful death claim in a civil court.
