A California man who lists his occupation as a child care provider is now in jail. Police arrested the man at the scene of a collision he was involved in with another vehicle. The initial impact of the crash was head-on after the man’s vehicle crossed over the center line of traffic and struck the other car. Sadly, it was a fatal collision.

Driver of other car was killed

Moments before the collision, one of the vehicles was headed in a westbound direction on the highway while the other was traveling eastbound. When the man’s car struck the other vehicle head-on, both cars came to rest on the roadway. Police say the driver of the car that was struck was pronounced dead on-site.

Police suspect the man who caused the crash of DUI

The officers who responded to the tragic scene wound up arresting the man who is believed to have caused the crash. They say that they had reason to believe that he was acting under the influence of drugs. The man was transported to a hospital for a medical examination, then released, at which time, police booked him into a county jail, with a bail set at $1 million.

Grieving the loss of a loved one in a fatal collision

It is devastating to learn that a family member has been killed in a car accident. When a family learns that the driver deemed responsible for the crash was on drugs or acting under the influence of alcohol at the time, it merely intensifies their grief. Nothing a family can do can bring back their loved one; however, many families find it comforting to know that they can, at least, seek financial recovery for their losses by pursuing a wrongful death claim against the person whose actions caused their loved one’s demise.
